To understand SEO you only need numbers. Really, it's not as bad as some people make it out to be. There's a lot of confusion that surrounds the practice or art of search engine optimization and some companies take advantage of that to scare people by handing them hype and other partial truths about how the process works. If the jargon is taken out of the equation, then the concept of search engine optimization becomes easier to grasp.

In simple terms people use a variety of words to search for information about websites they want to see, whether they be related to cars or horses, and the keywords they use to find these sites are what are used in search engine optimization.

You'd likely wind up using the very same keywords used to search for what your site provides, right on your site. It's a touch more complex than this since it sometimes involves various formulas, but that's it in a nutshell. Now there, not as confusing as you thought, right? Once you have the word or words to use in your site content, you can start tweaking the copy to feed to search engine spiders. Give it a go on your own to see what it's like.

Try a Google search for the term dog nutrition and you will pull up hundreds of pages ranked from number 1 to whatever thousandth page the results continue on to. The number one page is one that is not only search engine optimized with the right key words, but has fresh content on a very frequent basis. Many say website content needs to be changed every day. If you want your website to perform well, you might want to change content more often.

It takes work on your part to make the number one page spot in Google or other search engine sites. Find the right words people use to search for your kind of product, combine that with well-written site content, and you're off to the races

The keywords are best used within the first two paragraphs, or the first 25 words. This brings up the percentages game that many people feel is necessary for copy to be searched. Using your keyword or a set of keywords too often in your website content is a sure sign that you don't understand how to not over do the use of keywords.
